MY PLACE fully narrated video tutorial art lesson Grades 3-5 and Homeschool
Perfect BACK TO SCHOOL art project. This is a fully narrated video tutorial art lesson and demonstrates how to use the elements of LINE, SPACE & TEXTURE when composing a drawing. Stream the video lesson on your large screen and free yourself up to roam your classroom and support your child or students. Scroll down for a preview clip below.
Use with upper elementary learners in one of the following ways:
- Stream as an independent guided drawing lesson to develop drawing accuracy skills and theoretical knowledge about these 3 elements
- Share with the class as visual theoretical motivation, before students create drawings with personal content, based on the elements demonstrated in the video lesson.
This lesson plan focuses on the Art Elements of:
- SPACE - achieved through layering, proportion & detail
- LINE - their variety and purpose
- TEXTURE - show how if feels, what materials it’s made of, use shadow and light
Benefits of using a video lesson:

- All steps are viewable from start to finish
- Techniques are demonstrated
