- Have students brainstorm the many ways that ‘gift giving’ can be wasteful and bad for our environment
- Allow them to inquire into how we can give gifts that are sustainable, reusable, eco-friendly.
- While this lesson focuses on plants as the alternative, you don’t need to limit choices to plants only. Feel free to include other sustainable items that students identify.This unit models plants which can also link with a science unit about caring for plants and the value of them to our planet.
