Art Lesson LEGENDS - How to Grow Your Dragon (drawing and painting)
Techniques are teacher guided and includes extensive student choice opportunities.
Suitable for primary / elementary and middle school.
A clearly laid out full-colour PDF presentation. This is a great art lesson to engage the boys in your class and girls will love it too. Combine with a Literacy focus on Fantasy and you have a winner on your hands. I first wrote this unit back in 2009 and have had it requested every year since then, by each new class I get. The photos span all those years so you will see a variety of options.
Strong links to maths - measurement and geometry (enlargement). Art skills - drawing, shading, silhouettes, dye blending, crayon resist. You will have fun with this one! Step by step instructions and brimming with colour photographs of authentic student work. The examples in this unit were created by 8-9 year olds.
Landscape layout suitable for viewing through large or individual screens. Presentation consists of 33 slides (pages).
