Name Mandalas are a wonderful back to school art project for Fourth grade, Fifth grade & Middle School teachers, looking for a quick-win art lesson that is not craft. One that makes authentic links to the Principles of Design in Art, Art Theory, Art History, Famous artworks, and guides you and your students through making a quick but relevant art response for the Principles of Repetition that create Symmetry, Unity and Balance.
This Name Mandalas Art Lesson is the perfect introduction! The final product makes a great display for a Meet the Teacher night at the beginning of the school year.
This Mini Masterpieces art lesson inspired by contemporary Mandala artist Stephen Meakin, with reference to contemporary Op artist Shamira Wilson, is the third is a series that I use, to introduce my students to the Principles of Art and Design, with manageable creative art projects.
