Techniques are teacher guided and includes extensive student choice opportunities.
Suitable for lowerprimary / elementary school.
This art resource introduces students to the works of Russian painter Wassily Kandinsky - the father of abstraction. Links to art elements of line, shape and colour. The samples in this resource are from students aged 4-7.
Focus skills are fine-motor and we explored cutting, sorting, gluing and using stencils, painting smoothly, mixing colours, wet scratching and composition. Your students can produce a class mural or individual works as well. Also included as a bonus, a bulletin board display resource about the artist in the style of a facebook profile, including posts, images, video links and an autobiography. You can read more about this unit on my blog (link above) by using the search term 'Wassily Kandinsky - Father of abstraction' http://timeawillemse.blogspot.co.nzÂ
Examples in this unit were made by Y1 students.

*Fab, thank you. This will motivate my class.
*Thank you for a lovely resource. It is easy to understand & use especially that I am not an arty
