Art Plants: Blue Nikau (*NZ)
A clearly laid out full-colour PDF presentation for creating art within the New Zealand context, and beyond. Includes easy to follow steps-by-step instructions and example photographs throughout. The context of this art unit is Nikau Palms and Maori Kowhaiwhai patterns (New Zealand). It is influenced by the works of Fauvist artists Henri Matisse and Franz Marc. This context can be adapted to suit your local environment & cultural background. The lesson was taught in a Year 4 class of 8 and 9 year old students. Integrates complimentary colour theory, line theory and Geometry. Landscape layout suitable for viewing on smartboards or through data projector for junior/middle primary or can be used for independent viewing by senior primary students. Presentation consists of 22 slides (pages).
